Cyber Wellness

Cyber wellness refers to the positive well-being of Internet users. It involves an understanding of online behaviour and awareness of how to protect oneself in cyber space. Pupils attend cyber wellness lessons during their Form Teacher Guidance Period (FTGP) and our cyber wellness ambassadors take on roles on advocating the values of cyber wellness.

In Teck Ghee Primary School, two cyber wellness ambassadors are selected from each class (Primary 3 to Primary 6).

Cyber wellness ambassadors attend a training workshop in Term 1 to learn how to manage the ICT resources in the classroom and pick up values on cyber wellness.

These ambassadors are given opportunities to present to all the other pupils in the school during pre-assembly sessions. Their presentations include the following issues:
 ·         Netiquette
 ·         Gaming Addiction
 ·         Proper Usage of Mobile Phones / Whatsapp
 ·         Online Privacy
 ·         Cyber Bullying / Spyware / Malware
 ·         Cyber Security (Spam, Phishing)

Cyber Wellness ambassadors are also given duties during recess to educate their peers using pupil-created games like “Cyberpoly” and “Snake & Ladder”. Through playing the games, pupils in Teck Ghee Primary can learn about cyber wellness issues and the appropriate actions to take should they encounter these issues in real life.
