Student Leaders can acquire the 5 Practices of Exemplary Leadership:
Prefect Training Sessions and Nurturing Tomorrow’s Leaders Workshop
Training sessions are planned for the prefects once a term. During the training sessions, prefects learn about their roles and responsibilities and are given guidance on performing their duties. They are also given the opportunity to bond with their fellow prefects. The training sessions also incorporate activities to help the prefects to better their communication and listening skills, to lead with confidence and to work effectively as a team.
On 30 and 31 May, the prefects attended a 1.5 day workshop conducted by the Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group. The workshop laid the foundation for the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership which act as a guide for the prefects in their journey towards becoming effective leaders. During the workshop, the prefects took part in various activities which tapped on their creativity, teamwork and communication skills. The prefects were also required to do personal reflections during the workshop. Throughout the workshop, the prefects were positive and took part in all the activities enthusiastically.
