Sarawak, Malaysia 2015
From 24 to 28 May, 20 Primary 5 pupils together with 3 teachers went to Sarawak for an overseas study trip. The objective of this trip was to provide an opportunity for pupils to learn the cultures, customs and lifestyle of the Sarawakan.
During the trip, pupils visited the Annah Rais Bidayuh Longhouse. They learnt how to make beaded bracelets, participated in the traditional ceremonial dance, had a go on the musical instrument known as sapeh, experienced hands-on cooking with the longhouse folks and savoured the dishes after that.
The trip would not be complete without visiting the ‘Living Museum’ aka the Sarawak Cultural Village. Pupils visited replica houses of the seven major ethnic tribes.
It was an enriching experience for both the teachers and pupils!
